Lent

Lent is the time of year when we focus on the upcoming death of Jesus. We sorrowfully consider how our sins caused Jesus, who was completely innocent and lived a perfect life, to suffer and die.

"My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death," (Jesus) said to them.
Mark 14:34

Like Advent, there are Wednesday evening services during the season of Lent. The season starts with Ash Wednesday and leads up until Easter day.

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
1 Peter 1:18-19
